Daniel J. Sanders, Chief of Police

Daniel J. Sanders was appointed Chief of Police in October 2013. He has been with the Cedaredge Police Department for the last 10 years. During this time he was promoted to Sergeant. He became a Certified Police Canine Handler / Certified Canine Trainer. He and K-9 Buddy are well known throughout Delta County. He has served as the Lead Instructor for the Law Enforcement Academy at DMTC. He is a Field Training Officer (FTO) / FTO Supervisor.

Chief Sanders was born and raised in Delta County. He has a passion for the area and a true desire to influence our youth to be law abiding citizens. He is very involved in youth activities, i.e. youth baseball, 4-H, "Parents Den" Cedaredge Elementary, as well as conducting multiple lectures at community safety events throughout the region.

Chief Sander's goal is to serve and to protect the citizens of Cedaredge.
