Crime Rate

The Cedaredge crime rate is lower than the Colorado average crime rate and is much lower than the national average crime rate. Cedaredge is at times associated with the fictional television show Mayberry RFD, which represents the ideal small town tight knit community. However, meetings of the community members are more common than Andy & Barney's trip to the barber shop and much more classy with more hair salons, boutiques and coffee cafes for gathering and communalizing.

Community policing is implemented daily with this same approach to gathering and seeking community involvement with citizens. This partnership takes time and resources dedicated to training. The Cedaredge Police Department is also an accredited department that requires the department meet certain professional standards typically that only large police forces are able to maintain. Our police department also boasts the only K9 Officer in Delta County - Officer Tigger.
