Cedaredge has a post office, two banks, library, volunteer fire department and ambulance service both operated by separate districts, in-town doctors and dentists, a hospital 15 minutes away in Delta, a grocery store, a convenience gas station, almost a dozen eateries, retail, artisan boutiques, and plentiful personal care providers. Numerous selections are available for business and service providers including electrical, plumbing, heating, construction, photographers, guest accommodations and many more.
Business support is multifaceted locally and regionally. Cedaredge Area Chamber of Commerce, Delta County Economic Development, Region 10, Delta County Tourism Board, Downtown Colorado Inc., a Town organized Business Support Group and many other organizations provide valuable resources for start up, relocation and expanding commercial enterprises.
Cedaredge boasts two medical clinics, dentists, physical therapists, 15 minutes from Delta County Memorial and one hour from St Mary's that is nationally recognized for cancer treatment, one hour from Community Hospital that pride themselves on blending the complexities of modern medical technology, personalized care and close coordination with medical care providers to treat patients in a people-centered environment.
Church/Community Service Organizations
Almost a dozen churches are within town and a variety of additional denominations are within fifteen minutes of town. The Lions, Rotary, VFW, American Legion, Habitat for Humanity and many more service organizations call Cedaredge home. Youth programs include, but not limited to 4-H, scouts, youth groups, library line-ups, year around athletic leagues, etc. A food bank serves community members Mondays and Thursdays, senior citizen meals Tuesday through Thursday and a diverse mixture of programs, services and assistance or dedicated volunteer groups can be found locally.
The Delta County School District manages public school facilities within town; a high school, middle school 6th to 8th grades, fairly new LEAD certified elementary school and a Vision School similar to a Charter/Home School Program. Pre-School programs are operated by local organizations with highly qualified staff. There are a variety of organized home school associations.
Delta-Montrose Technical College is located in Delta about a 20 minute drive. The service area includes Delta, Gunnison, Hinsdale, Montrose, Ouray, and San Miguel counties. Offerings include career and technical education programs approved and/or accredited by the Colorado Community College System and the North-Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI).
About an hour drive in Grand Junction is CMU. Founded in 1925, Colorado Mesa University is a comprehensive regional public higher education institution offering liberal arts, professional, and technical programs at the master's, bachelor's, associate and certificate levels.
