  2. Voices of the Western Slope: We Are All Beekeepers

    January 21, 2020, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Find out how you can help save the bees! Honey bees and natural pollinators are declining. We all play a role in saving the bees, so we will discuss ways you can help without actually having a bee hive in your yard. Chris and Gwen Williams ("Just the beekeepers wife"), local Cedaredge commercial beekeepers, will be the presenters. They own and operate San Juan Honey Company and a bee pro shop San Juan Bee Supply, with over 35 years of beekeeping experience. Chris Williams has been in the valley pollinating apple orchards from the Williams Orchards back to the early 1980's, pollinating Leroy Standford's apple orchards. Their passion to help the bee and the backyard beekeeper sparked the idea in 2019, to open a beekeeping pro shop in Delta call San Juan Bee Supply. Gwen Williams ("Just the beekeepers wife') runs the store and believes the only way "To save the bee you must first educate the beekeeper".
