The existing Northridge subdivision distribution system experiences frequent leaks and unscheduled repairs which present an operations challenge and potential health risk. Additionally, there is minimal looping to maintain water quality, insufficient fire hydrants to provide adequate fire protection, and few valves for operations. The project replaces the majority of undersized steel mains in the Northridge system and adds 8 new fire hydrants and 3 new gate valves for improved fire protection, water quality and capacity.
